A Step Back in Time

Richmond, Indiana has the only two permanent mummy displays in the state of Indiana - located at Wayne County Historical Museum & Joseph Moore Museum of Natural History.

Jazz History

The Gennett Records branch of the now-defunct Starr Piano Company is well-known for its groundbreaking recordings of numerous jazz pioneers like Louis Armstrong, Hoagy Carmichael, Jelly Roll Morton and Duke Ellington. Once located on the banks of the Whitewater River in the center of Richmond, Gennett Records also recorded many pioneers in other styles of American music.

Historic National Road

The Historic National Road was America's first interstate highway established by an act of Congress in 1806. The Indiana portion was built between 1829 and 1834.
